IT services solutions provider 1901 Group has elevated Tricia Long to vice president of marketing communications and public relations.

Long, who joined 1901 Group just a year ago, has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, including in strategic marketing and media relations. Her previous role at 1901 Group was as senior director of marketing and communication and before that, she served in marketing communications positions with MITRE Corp., Mitretek Systems (now Noblis), Arnold Worldwide and RJR Nabisco.

Long is a well-known industry expert in marketing strategy, branding, media relations, messaging, social media and analytics, said Sonu Singh, CEO of 1901 Group.

“Adding Tricia to our team has allowed 1901 Group to crisply and efficiently articulate our history, vision, and drive both external and internal communications,” he said. “She has done a remarkable job of raising our visibility across the market, helping our customers and partners understand 1901 Group’s strengths and capabilities.”

Long was also the recipient of the Pinnacle Award, having previously been the director of marketing and communications for Salient CRGT. The award is Salient CRGT’s highest performance achievement, and Long was recognized for her role in providing extraordinary business outcomes.

“I think that anybody that has worked with Tricia knows that she brings a wealth of experience to our Corporate Marketing and Communications Team,” said Paul Wilkinson, executive vice president of business development. “Tricia is an important part of our success and we are excited about her promotion and her continued positioning of 1901 Group for growth.”

Long said she is excited to lead the team into providing the industry with a deeper understanding and education.

“We have a great team and unique capabilities and I am excited to continue my journey with 1901 Group,” she added.
