Science Applications International Corp. has won a prime contractor spot on the U.S. Army’s $37 billion Responsive Strategic Sourcing contract.

The multi-award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract has a 5-year base and a 5-year optional ordering period. And under the contract, SAIC will compete for task orders in specialty engineering; research, development, test and evaluation; logistics; acquisition and strategic planning; education and training services.

Plus, this isn’t the company’s entrée into defense-based services.

“We are very pleased to continue SAIC’s decades-long support of the Army around the world,” said Jim Scanlon, executive vice president and general manager of SAIC’s Defense Systems Group.“Our expertise in systems engineering, deep analytics, cyber operations, and soldier training, to name a few, will help the Army and other customers meet and defeat the threats of tomorrow.”

In May, SAIC also won a $58 million Optical Radiation Bioeffects and Safety contract with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory — a fixed-fee contract spanning 75 months.
