Science Applications International Corp. has announced the appointment of Nazzic Keene as chief executive, succeeding Tony Moraco.

Keene, a well-respected industry leader, has over three decades of experience in information systems and technology services. Before her most recent role as SAIC’s chief operating officer, she served as the company’s president of global markets and missions sector.

Keene is also the recipient of Washington Business Journal’s 2018 COO of the Year Award and their Women Who Mean Business Award.

“As a longtime leader at SAIC, Nazzic teamed with Tony over the past year to ensure a successful transition for SAIC and its shareholders,” said Donna Morea, SAIC board chair. “We are excited for Nazzic to begin her tenure as CEO and confident that she will bring the level of strategic foresight, focus on the customer mission and strong leadership to exploit SAIC’s strengths and opportunities. With such an intimate knowledge of the business and industry, she will continue to drive our accelerated growth strategy marked by the Engility acquisition and our expanding capabilities, talent and customer access.”

Keene will work to enhance SAIC’s mission-critical solutions and services such as IT modernization, digital engineering, space and intelligence capabilities.

“I’m honored to lead SAIC as one of the largest independent technology integrators in government services,” Keene said. “We are in the midst of exciting change and will soon implement strategies that further invigorate SAIC, continue to differentiate our customer solutions, and confirm our dedication to employee development and shareholder value.”
