Software and services provider Ellucian has announced Asim Zaheer as its new chief marketing officer.
Zaheer will be in charge of the company’s global brand marketing, field marketing, solutions marketing, marketing communications and marketing operations organizations. He will also continue Ellucian’s strategic marketing initiatives that focus on digital transformation and moving to the cloud.
“I’m excited to join Ellucian in empowering successful institutions and their students at such a pivotal time in the industry,” Zaheer said. “With Ellucian’s portfolio of SaaS solutions, we support the evolution of higher education by putting customers first, optimizing their investments, and facilitating the adoption of new technology that enriches the student experience.”
Zaheer’s experience, energy and vision “will propel our market position and growth to a new level,” Ellucian President and CEO Laura Ipsen said.

Zaheer brings 25 years of experience in the technology sector, including past positions as CMO at Hitachi Vantara and as CMO and SVP at Hitachi Data Systems.
