Perspecta has appointed former AT&T executive Rocky Thurston as senior vice president and general manager of its civilian, state and local group to develop growth strategies and maintain existing program performance.

Thurston, a U.S. Air Force veteran, brings more than 20 years of experience serving defense, intelligence, civilian and public safety federal markets, and is well versed in software, infrastructure, cybersecurity and analytics.

Prior to joining Perspecta, he was client executive vice president of AT&T’s air, space and strategic defense, and served as a managing director and partner at Accenture. Thurston has also spent time at Wyle, Lockheed Martin and Booz Allen Hamilton.

Mac Curtis, president and CEO of Perspecta, said the company is excited for Thurston to join its senior leadership team.

“He brings valuable experience in profit and loss management, business development and integration activities that make him the ideal candidate for this role,” Curtis said. “I look forward to working closely with Rocky, and am confident he will be an incredible asset to our team.
