Giant Oak has received one of Red Herring’s Top 100 North America Awards for its deep web search and retrieval tool.
The company was recognized for Giant Oak Search Technology, or GOST, which leverages machine learning and artificial intelligence for both business and federal customers to quickly detect and rank threats.
GOST combines data and behavioral science and uses a ranking algorithm that is 97% more efficient than traditional search and screening methods.
GOST is designed to reveal and rank otherwise-hidden information by digesting and ranking publicly available data.
[addthis tool=”addthis_relatedposts_inline_va7y”]“As data continues to double every 18 to 24 months, it has become impossible for investigators and analysts to screen across the massive deluge of data,” said Giant Oak Founder and CEO Gary Shiffman. “Machine learning identifies patterns at a scale and speed that humans can’t match. The result of (machine learning and artificial intelligence) technology like GOST is that individuals can make smarter decisions about risks, and governments can foster a safer and freer society. This recognition by Red Herring helps to validate Giant Oak’s innovative work in redefining how screening and continuous vetting operations are performed to ultimately make us all safer.”
The prestigious awards go to top-notch private ventures as selected by Red Herring’s editorial team for factors that include disruptive impact, proof of concept, financial performance, market footprint and quality of management.
“Selecting finalists for this year’s Top 100 has proved more difficult than ever,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and chairman of Red Herring. “North America has been tech’s beating heart for years – but never have I seen such an exciting, disruptive and innovative generation as we have in 2019. Giant Oak fully deserves its place among our Top 100, and I’ve every confidence it will make a significant impact in the tech world.”
