    Business Spotlight: Toucan-Signs & Graphics

    Dennis McIlhenny, Toucan-Signs & Graphics

Toucan-Signs & Graphics has been the sign vendor for the K-12 STEM Symposium for the past three years.

Additionally, said owner and CEO Dennis McIlhenny, the 4-year-old company does work for a variety of organizations, including IT firms, nonprofits, public schools, commercial real estate firms, financial establishments, and a number of other companies in wide-ranging fields. Toucan-Signs also does a significant amount of work in vehicle wraps and vehicle signage.

“There’s not really any particular industry that we specialize in because every company has some kind of signage in some form,” McIlhenny said. “We do … the signs you see around various offices, anything from the directory that you see in the lobby to the individual sign that goes next to an office suite or the logo that is on the wall once you enter the suite.”

Among the large projects Toucan has completed recently are redoing signage for a large church and participating in a rebranding of what is now SOAR 365, an organization that works with individuals with mental and physical disabilities.

Toucan’s name was chosen for the vivid, multicolored beak, McIlhenny said, “which fits with creating vivid signs and graphics, and because it lives in the jungle and flies high above its competitors.”

The company’s motto is “separate yourself from the flock.”

McIlhenny said he’s enjoyed working with WashingtonExec.

“They’re a great organization, and we’ve been very happy to be able to support them in their efforts,” he said.
