NTT Data Services’ public sector group has been awarded a 5-year $60 million contract from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to provide IT service desk and field services support to its Office of Science Management and Operations.
NIAID, which falls under the National Institutes of Health, has worked with NTT DATA before; in 2013 with help desk and field services support, and for the last five years with service delivery support to improve customer satisfaction, response times and reduce call-handling times. This new contract provides very low transition risk, according to Tim Conway, president of public sector.
“We are committed to our long-term partnership with NIAID and bringing industry best practices to them that continue to drive performance improvements and efficiencies,” he said.
NTT DATA Services Federal Government will also support NIAID with day-to-day general and specialized IT management services.
In January, the company’s federal group won a prime position on the U.S. Army’s IT Enterprise Solutions 3 Services contracting vehicle known as ITES-3S. NTT DATA became one of 135 companies eligible to provide services for the Army under the multiple task order, which has a $12.1 billion ceiling with a 5-year base period through September 2023.
