STEM Champion Award Winner Kevin Kelly, president at CACI International Inc – LGS LABS, recently talked about being named the 2019 K-12 STEM Symposium’s Inspiring STEM Executive of the Year. Kelly will accept his award March 30 at The Nysmith School in Herndon, Virginia.
In the interview, Kelly discusses why science and technology literacy is important to students across all disciplines, not just those who prefer math and science classes. He also talks about LGS’ local involvement in the STEM community, including supporting employee passions through matching donations, volunteer leave and internship scholarship awards.
Kelly ends his interview by giving a shout-out to his hands-on high school physics teacher for making science engaging and rewarding for him at an early age.
CACI completed it acquisition of LGS earlier this month.
This year’s K-12 STEM Symposium: The Power of Curiosity is presented by Riverside Research, a nonprofit R&D organization for the Defense Department and the intelligence community, and aims to better link classroom learning with today’s science and technology capabilities. The annual event, hosted by WashingtonExec, is free and open to the public, but attendees are asked to register in advance. Sign up at here.
