Science Applications International Corp. has hired Bob Ritchie, former director of software engineering for Capital One, as its new lead for the software practice to oversee strategy and investment in software solutions.
Ritchie began his career with SAIC as a tech lead and served as a research fellow in 2016, and will return to replace Kevin Ikeda who is retiring this month, the company said.
In this new role, Ritchie will also be responsible for development, integration and sustainment of software applications, and the migration of legacy code and apps to new environments.
In Ritchie’s previous role with Capital One, he and his team led an engineering organization of over 500 professionals in areas of machine learning, cloud architecture, cyber, fulfillment IT, and case and process management. He’s also has experience in app migration, as he helped lead the move of 400 distributed apps from on-premises to Amazon Web Services for Capital One as well.
“As we seek to grow and increasingly drive commercial approaches into our software practice, Bob will lead us in the right direction, supporting our expansion in areas of application modernization and advanced development with an eye toward transforming the way we deliver solutions,” said Josh Jackson, executive vice president and general manager of SAIC Solutions and Technology Group.
Ritchie will report to Jackson in his new position.
