The MITRE Corp. has added three news members to its board of trustees, and the board has elected a new chairman and vice chairman, the company announced.
The board elected former Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence Donald Kerr to serve as chairman and the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Mike Rogers to serve as vice chairman.
The three new board members are: Lance Collins, Yvette Meléndez and Adalio T. Sanchez.
“The Board of Trustees leadership by Dr. Kerr and Mr. Rogers brings a strong understanding and strategic view of both the public and private sectors, which is critical to our mission to serve the public interest across federal, state, and local governments, as well as industry and academia,” said Jason Providakes, MITRE president and CEO. “I want to sincerely thank Dr. John Hamre, who retired from the Board of Trustees as Chairman, for his leadership, knowledge, and experience on national security issues and his championship of MITRE and its capabilities to solve problems to make the world safer over these many years.”
“We are honored to welcome Dr. Collins, Ms. Meléndez, and Mr. Sanchez—leaders in their respective areas of academia, healthcare, and technology—to MITRE’s Board of Trustees,” Providakes continued. “We look forward to their contributions to advising MITRE’s mission-critical work to solve problems for a safer world through our federally funded research and development centers, public-private partnerships, and other areas of strategic focus.”
