Software AG has tapped former CiBO Technologies Chief Revenue Officer Raj Datta as new president for North America. Datta will work to expand the company’s technology leadership and market share in the U.S. and Canada, the company said.
Software AG Chief Customer Officer Eric Duffaut said he’s confident Datta will take the company to “new heights.”
“He brings a strong track record, both with IBM and CiBO Technologies, of building successful businesses based on entrepreneurship and innovations, while delivering superior financial performance and growth,” Duffaut said.
Datta’s most recent executive roles at IBM was as vice president of cloud, cognitive and analytics and global director for Watson Internet of Things and channels. He came onboard IBM in February 1999 as a consultant.
“This is a very exciting time to be joining Software AG as the company builds on the momentum of its first year of successful market adoption of its IoT (Internet of Things) portfolio and the growing demand for its Digital Business Platform,” Datta said. “Software AG is especially unique in that it can provide everything a business needs to launch an IoT project, build new digital business models and processes, and integrate them into their existing IT infrastructure.”
Datta has an MBA from Northwestern University’ Kellogg School of Management and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
