Kavitha Prabhakar will take on a new role as Deloitte Consulting LLP’s civil government practice leader, succeeding Diane Murray, who’ll serve as the consultancy’s delivery excellence leader.

With over 20 years of professional consulting experience, Prabhakar has a strong track record of delivering large, technology-enabled business transformations that help improve federal clients’ mission delivery, Deloitte said.

In addition to a keen understanding of the market and clients’ challenges, Prabhakar brings “keen business acumen and leadership skills,” said Dan Helfrich, principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP and government and public services practice leader.

Prabhakar leads the Executive Women in Technology effort for Deloitte’s CIO program and serves in various roles championing its Women’s Initiative programs. She’s also on Deloitte’s board council, leading governance-related engagements as requested by the chairman.

Prabhakar earned her bachelor’s degree in computer science from the State University of New York at Buffalo and holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
