AMERICAN SYSTEMS has announced its acquisition of DDL OMNI Engineering, LLC, adding over 250 employees to AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ workforce.

The transaction, in which DDL OMNI was represented by Teneo Capital, officially closed Aug 3. The strategic acquisition will complement AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ capabilities and expand its footprint in key areas.

“Acquisitions are an important element of our growth strategy, and we work hard to ensure that we select companies that are a good fit for us, both strategically and culturally,” said Peter Smith, AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ president and CEO. “DDL OMNI shares our commitment to national priority programs, and their culture will mesh well with ours.”

DDL OMNI has provided engineering and technical services to federal government and commercial customers since 1967. The company’s core capabilities include alteration design and installation services; environmental services; materials and structures engineering; program and strategic management; sensor and electronics development; software, web and systems development; technical documentation; and training and simulation.

“Congratulation to AMERICAN SYSTEMS,” said Bob Kipps, managing director of KippsDeSanto & Co. “DDL Omni looks to be another great, strategic acquisition for them.”

Under the terms of the agreement, DDL OMNI will join AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ Professional and Custom Solutions group, led by Vice President and General Manager Hyuk Byun.

“The acquisition of DDL OMNI means we now bring more than 90 years of collective corporate experience to our existing and new customers,” Byun said. “Our combined resources will benefit all parties—our customers, our company, and our employees.”
