TWD & Associates Inc. has hired Catherine Simpson as its vice president for business development, adding an executive with more than 25 years of experience selling to the federal government.
TWD, which provides technology solutions to federal agencies, commercial companies and nonprofits, said that Simpson has outstanding leadership skills and is well-versed in government contracting, with proven experience building strategic relationships with both industry partners and government end users.
TWD’s president and CEO, Larry Besterman, said the company was excited to have Simpson leading its business development team.
“Cathy has a long and impressive record of successful business development with federal government customers across a broad range of technology solutions, with specific expertise in the Department of Homeland Security,” Besterman said. “Her dedication to partnership and solving a customer’s problem rather than simply focusing on ‘making a sale’ aligns perfectly with TWD’s culture.”
Simpson joined TWD after an eight-year tenure as a senior member of the DHS sales and support team for Government Acquisitions, Inc. She previously held senior sales roles, also focused on DHS, for GTSI (now UNICOM Government), McDonald Bradley and CLMS.
Simpson said that she was drawn to TWD because of the company’s long history of delivering mission-critical communications and collaboration solutions to the federal government, as well as its commitment to innovative approaches.
“What intrigued me was their forward-thinking mindset and the way they have embraced Agile and DevSecOps capabilities,” Simpson said. “With the federal government’s focus on IT modernization and digital transformation, this type of approach will be key to success. I am looking forward to bringing my skillset to the team.”
