Kay Curling of Curling & Associates Kicks off New Execs on the Move Committee

WashingtonExec is relaunching its Execs on the Move Committee, a forum created for executives in various states of transition – ranging from re-entering the govcon industry, engaging in startup work, consulting or serving as board of advisers/directors. Similar to the market in 2012, the stigma associated with transitioning opportunities is gone. Reinvention is part of the cycle of change in govcon.

Kay Curling of Curling & Associates, former Salient CRGT executive, will lead the group. Future programming topics will include market M&A trends, entrepreneurship vs. contract work and self-assessment. The committee has more than 80 members and meets six times a year. Joining the committee is referral-based from the WashingtonExec community.

“It has been a great eight years at Salient CRGT and six years as WashingtonExec’s Founding Human Capital Council Chairperson. I am excited to start a new entrepreneurial endeavor and bring my deep expertise in Corporate Transactions, Strategic Human Capital Solutions and HR Operations,” Curling said.

The Execs on the Move Committee is a pivotal role of the WashingtonExec Career Bridge. Unlike other corporate membership organizations, Execs on the Move is a unique program that offers professionals a single platform to make connections over the course of an entire career – starting at age 5 with the K-12 STEM Symposium, the College Leadership Program, the Rising Stars of GovCon, career management and executive leadership programs, to exit and retirement. A key value-add to the WashingtonExec community, the program has placed many individuals in full-time and consulting roles through this program. Former Chairpersons include Gary Slack, now president and CEO of XLA, and Margaret Mitchell-Jones, now director of communications at BAE Systems.
