The Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce on April 18 is hosting a symposium that will explore consolidation within the government contracting industry, with former Undersecretary of Defense Frank Kendall as keynote speaker.
Titled “A New Wave: Industry Consolidation in the GovCon Market,” the symposium will take place at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. It runs from 7:30-11 a.m. Speakers will discuss whether federal government buying habits, trends in technology, and overcapacity in the government contracting market will lead to a new wave of industry consolidation.
Kendall is currently an executive in residence with Renaissance Strategic Advisors, and former undersecretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics. Besides Kendall, the event will feature several government contracting leaders, including Babs Doherty, president and CEO of Eagle Ray; Kevin Phillips, president and CEO of ManTech; Manik Rath, CEO of C2 Technologies; and Dara Castle, managing partner at RSM.
A separate panel on mergers and acquisitions will feature Jennifer Felix, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Vencore; Bob Kipps of KippsDeSanto; George Wilson, CEO and president of ECS Federal; and Frank Finelli of the Carlyle Group.
