Aspen Institute Names Interim EVP for Leadership

    David Langstaff, Aspen Institute

The Aspen Institute has named David Langstaff, former president and CEO of TASC, as its interim executive vice president for leadership and seminars.

Langstaff, a longtime moderator of the Institute’s Aspen Executive Seminar and several other leadership seminars, will step in for Peter Reiling, who is leaving the Aspen Institute after 14 years to build a new network of values-based leaders.

Langstaff has worked with the Aspen Institute for more than a decade, and in addition to moderating leadership seminars has been deeply involved with the Aspen Global Leadership Network, the institute said. He also currently serves as chairman of the advisory board of the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society Program.

“Fortunately, we have been able to recruit to this interim position a member of the Aspen Institute family with impeccable leadership qualities and values,” Aspen Institute President and CEO-elect Dan Porterfield said. “David brings business acumen and understands our mission, treasures the seminar experience, and knows firsthand the power of our network. Most of all, he is a values-driven leader himself.”

Langstaff has served as CEO and director of several advanced technology and professional services firms, and currently is president of Argotyche Inc., a consulting and advisory services company.

The Aspen Institution will begin a search for a permanent successor to Reiling over the next few months.
