Save the Date: Breakfast Forum: Federal Technology Outlook for 2018

GovernmentCIO Magazine will host its first breakfast forum Oct. 19 featuring an interview with Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., and a presentation by Todd Stottlemyer, CEO of Inova Center for Personalized Health.

Congress received a significant boost with the passage of the Modernizing Government Technology Act in the defense spending bill. Connolly served as an architect for the bipartisan effort. He will discuss that and future IT modernization efforts with GovernmentCIO Magazine‘s new editor-in-chief, Camille Tuutti.

Following that conversation, the chief information officers for the Health and Human Services Department and the Food and Drug Administration will discuss the technologies they expect their agencies to invest in to improve government services. Debbie Bucci, a blockchain advocate at HHS, will join the discussion and talk about the potential digital ledgers have in health care.

The morning will conclude with a presentation by Stottlemyer. The Inova Center for Personalized Health recently made a significant investment in a health accelerator to spur local personalized health startups.

“This forum will be a great opportunity to hear directly from federal CXOs about IT issues shaping the future of government,” Tuutti said. “Tech-minded executives, both in government and industry, will find great value from this event and leave with important takeaways about the role emerging tech has on transforming government.”
