Matt Hickey has become vice president of AT&T’s global public sector channel marketing after three years as vice president of sales operations for the company’s business solutions unit.

With more than 25 years of experience, Hickey has worked in several AT&T units that focus on advanced technology solutions.

AT&T’s global public sector supports government and education customers at the federal, state, local and international levels. The unit’s sales totaled $14.8 billion in 2016. Hickey will lead paid media, sponsorship and marketing across the public sector customer base and will oversee related industry events.

“Government agencies are using commercial-off-the-shelf solutions more and more,” said Kay Kapoor, president of AT&T Global Public Sector. “Matt’s experience on the commercial side of our business can help us bring increased innovation to our public sector customers.”
