Hitachi Data Systems has a new president and CEO: David Turner, who brings over 20 years of experience to the position.
Most recently, Turner was president of the Applied Technology & Operational Services Group at Akima, where he managed business strategy and was responsible for a portfolio of five companies that served federal defense and civilian agencies.
“This is an exciting time to serve the federal government,” Turner said. “Agencies are at a crucial turning point within their digital transformations as data has become essential to every federal agency mission. HDS Federal has extraordinary potential because the organization has developed truly differentiated technologies and expertise that provide agencies real solutions through the entire data life cycle.”
“David combines a deep knowledge of our federal customers’ needs with a successful track record delivering solutions to address those mission needs,” said HDS Senior Vice President of the Americas Barry Morrison. “We know he will be successful enabling public sector customers to leverage Hitachi’s powerful data management, analytics, mobility and visualization solutions to further their mission goals.”
Prior to joining HDS, Turner led business strategy initiatives for Fortune 100 companies. Turner has a bachelor of science degree in molecular biology from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
