Octo Consulting Group announced March 27 the appointment of Tom Lee as senior vice president, leading the company’s National Security Business Unit. In this capacity, he will be responsible for the company’s business development efforts and national security portfolio engagements and report to Octo President and Chief Operations Officer Robert McCord.
“We were immediately drawn to Tom’s background which gives him a unique lens at approaching engagements to ensure agency mission success,” Octo CEO Mehul Sanghani said. “Tom and Octo understand that our national security customers seek solutions that are force multipliers for mission success, and that these solutions often play critical roles in protecting our nation.”
“I was drawn to Octo’s commitment to building teams that live the mission of their customers,” Lee said. “Our teams understand that they’re not simply developing software for their customers, but rather helping the FBI digitally manage the overwhelming evidentiary processes or creating flexible IT infrastructure for DHS. It’s this unique understanding of the customer mission that sets Octo apart.”
Lee brings almost 20 years of government IT experience to the position. He most recently served as vice president of national security with Acuity. Lee started his career as a certified public accountant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and BearingPoint before teaching himself how to write code and working on large scale government contracts.
Lee is also certified scrum master, certified project management professional and ITIL v3f certified.
