David Mihelcic, former DISA CTO, joins Juniper Networks

Based in Sunnyvale, Calif., Juniper Networks hired David Mihelcic, former CTO of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

In his previous role, Mihelcic served as the Agency’s senior authority on scientific, technical, and engineering subject matters. He developed the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) enterprise-wide systems engineering process. He also planned and established DISA’s board for facilitating and governing cross-program integration and synchronization. Additionally, Mihelcic played a major role in the Global Information Grid Bandwidth Expansion Program, a large-scale DoD net-centric transformational initiative to increase the amount of available bandwidth to improve national security.

After more than three decades in government, Mihelcic announced his retirement as CTO of DISA on February 22, 2017 and he formally joined Juniper’s federal division.

“We have an incredible opportunity at Juniper to lead the next wave of innovation and network transformation in the federal space” said Tim Solms, vice president, U.S. Federal and managing director, WW Government at Juniper Networks. “David has a proven track record of positive disruption within the federal government, and we’re pleased to welcome him to Juniper to continue to drive innovation not only for our federal customers, but the entire company.”

Juniper Networks produces automated, scalable and secure networks. At Juniper, Mihelcic will have full visibility into the future technology roadmap and product development and will provide counsel on infrastructure modernization initiatives with a primary focus on network security.
