Engineering Solutions & Products LLC (ESP) announced Feb. 28 that it has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)®, as performed by JFR Consulting.

“CMMI Level 3 is an example of our ongoing Corporate commitment to quality,” President and CEO Douglas Fouser said. “As ESP expands our capability set, we will build upon our processes and strengthen best practices. CMMI supports us in the implementation of a common, integrated set of processes which enable the delivery of best in class services, with predictable cost, schedule and quality. This achievement is paramount to our commitment to continuous process improvement while providing the highest level of services to our clients.”

The ESP Service Execution Team offerings encompass the indirect functional and project management support required for the identification, capture, proposal, award and execution of contracts. The appraisal team noted that the ESP SharePoint based knowledge management enterprise significantly improves management visibility and staff efficiencies across all operating systems, thereby improving the timeliness and quality of services to its customers while reducing overall costs. This also enables ESP to provide a level of performance that exceeds industry norms, while simultaneously passing their savings on to their clients.

CMMI is a capability improvement framework that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.
