The George Mason University Volgenau School of Engineering will host an Engineering Youth Conference Feb. 19 to encourage middle and high school students and their parents to dream big and find their own inner engineer.
“The event is part of our school’s activities to promote National Engineer’s Week,” GMU’s Director of STEM Outreach Kammy Sanghera said. “Engineering is an exciting and dynamic field. Often students don’t get a chance to explore the field in their own school so we wanted to provide a special program for them.”
Attendees will get insider tips on how to succeed with pursing an engineering degree and network with guest speakers, and future engineers. Hands-on activities include opportunities to design and build structures, make concrete, develop cybersecurity strategies that will keep devices safe, and much more.
