How do you best capture a potential employer’s attention?

In a recent WashingtonExec Execs on the Move discussion, Right Management’s Shelby Olson shared her expertise on how to do just that and how a LinkedIn profile can help professionals establish themselves in the marketplace.

LinkedIn has become the new “employment hunting ground”—if you want to be found by executive recruiters, connect via LinkedIn, Olson said. Her presentation also demonstrated how to create a strong profile with a proper photo, summary, job descriptions, etc.

“WashingtonExec Execs On the Move is a great venue to keep current on job opportunities, hear from great speakers, or just share past experiences with other local executives,” said Margaret Mitchell-Jones, principal consultant, Progressiventures. “I always learn something new, and this week’s LinkedIn presentation was no different. Local area career coach Shelby Olson shared some great tips on the value of networking and suggestions for online branding.”

The Execs on the Move Committee has more than 100 members and meets six times a year in Tysons Corner. The committee is invite-only, from an existing member of the group or from a member of WashingtonExec.
