MacAulay-Brown Inc. announced Dec. 27 its acquisition of Enlighten IT Consulting, a provider of secure cloud engineering, big data analytics and software solutions for defense and commercial customers.

EITC will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary, reporting directly to MacB President and CEO Sid Fuchs.

“My vision has always been to take MacB into a direction that is more reflective of transformational capabilities that meet customers’ future mission needs in an evolving business environment,” Fuchs said. “Adding EITC to the MacB portfolio, along with our previous acquisitions, showcases a strategy that is on target and enables us to expand into highly valued markets with leading-edge capabilities. The collective skills of our employees will drive future innovation, mission success and increased value for customers. On behalf of the entire MacB family, we welcome our new EITC colleagues to the MacB team.”

“MacB’s EITC acquisition not only complements our current cybersecurity offerings, but also adds additional engineering capabilities and scale that will have a significant impact on our ability to support national security customers,” EITC President and CEO Shawn Justice said. “We look forward to expanding our capabilities and solutions for current and future customers, while simultaneously utilizing the extensive resources of MacB’s industry-leading customer solutions and mission support.”

“Everyone talks about their deals being ‘strategic,'” said Bob Kipps, managing director of KippsDeSanto. “MacB walked the walk on this one as EITC brings great new capabilities and new national intel customers — great addition.”

EITC was founded in 2007 to provide secure cloud engineering, analytics and big data solutions to the defense and intelligence communities. The company also developed its proprietary Rapid Analytic Deployment and Management Framework for the key analytic components of the Big Data Platform. The company also provides network operations monitoring, cyber threat detection and mitigation, and insider threat identification across numerous DOD datasets.

In 2016, EITC was named Government Contractor of the Year (up to $25 million) by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce at the Greater Washington Government Contractor Award event, which recognizes leading companies and executives from the Washington, D.C., area.

This is MacB’s third major acquisition in four years, with Secure Computing and Communications added in 2013, and Commonwealth Technology, Inc. in 2014.

Bluestone Capital Partners served as the exclusive adviser to EITC on this transaction.
