Unisys Corp. announced Dec. 5 the appointment of company President and CEO Peter Altabef by President Barack Obama to serve on the president’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.

“It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve by helping to advance the mission and work of this committee,” Altabef said. “I look forward to working with my fellow committee members to address the important security challenges we face as a nation.”

NSTAC is composed by senior executives from leading companies in industries including telecommunications, network services, information technology, finance and aerospace.

The committee advises the U.S. government on a wide range of policy and technical issues relating to five key themes: strengthening national security; enhancing cybersecurity; maintaining the global communications infrastructure; assuring communications for disaster response; and addressing critical infrastructure interdependencies and dependencies.
