As an exhibitor at the 2016 K-12 STEM Symposium, Merci Best describes STEAMtrix as a STEM education program that incorporate the Arts. The organization is local to Richmond, Virginia but is looking to expand across the United States. Putting arts into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics is a creative way to engage students and keep it interesting.

For two years in a row, STEAMtrix has piloted its program at a local Boys and Girls Club where students learn new ways to apply STEM. This program consists of the students making ice cream, making their own music, building ice cream trucks out of snacks, building self portraits, using fashion design, and writing their own business plans adapted from the Forbes checklist.

The Annual K-12 STEM Symposium will be held March 25, 2017 in Herndon, Virginia. The largest K-12 STEM Symposium in the National Capital Region is a free, all-day forum that equally engages local parents, educators and children. Sign up by visiting www.stemsymposium.com.  Sponsorships are still available.
