Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. has appointed Alan R. Stewart senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Stewart is a senior executive with deep experience in management, tax, investor relations, finance, accounting, and mergers and acquisitions for public and private companies. Prior to joining SPA, Stewart worked for Vistronix, where he oversaw the integration of multiple acquisitions, facilitated sales of the company’s equity and implemented new organizational structures.

In 2010, the Northern Virginia Technology Council selected Stewart as a finalist for the Greater Washington Technology CFO Award in the “Public Company CFO of the Year” category.

“We are very excited to have someone of Alan’s caliber and integrity join the SPA team,” said Dr. William Vantine, president and CEO of SPA. “He brings a wealth of experience and proven success in budgeting and forecasting, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations and management and leadership to our team.”

“Hiring Alan is a fantastic move on SPA’s part,” said Dale Powell, vice chairman at Cushman & Wakefield. “He brings not only a fantastic financial background to SPA but also a strong operational background. He knows the government contracting business inside and out! Congratulations to SPA and Alan – a great combination.”

Bob Kipps, managing director at KippsDeSanto & Co., also gave SPA high praise for hiring Stewart.

“As everyone knows, Alan is a great guy and a mover and shaker,” Kipps said. “He’s a great add for SPA and CM Equity. It also likely means SPA will be an exciting company to watch in 2017 and beyond.”
