The Fairfax Futures Annual Business Leaders Reception recently released a new STEM resource for parents. The online 12-page booklet titled “Building STEM Connections in Early Childhood” lists the benefits of incorporating STEM topics into a child’s education and provides ideas for adults on how to introduce the topics to children.

This resource is designed for use by early childhood educators in family childcare, center-based and preschool settings and for use by families interested in supporting their young children’s innate curiosity and inclination for exploration and discovery.

The booklet also includes sample activities built around everyday interactions with young children, at home, with friends, outdoors, or in an early-childhood education setting. It also includes a book list and STEM-related apps.
