WashingtonExec is excited to announce Doug Russell as the organization’s director of programs.

Russell will create and execute WashingtonExec’s individual council member events and memberwide events while driving overall membership growth.

Before joining WashingtonExec, Russell spent the last 15 years in various business development roles in the commercial marketplace. After spending time in Chicago, Russell returned to the Washington, D.C., area in 2009 to sell HR outsourcing to small government contractors. Since then, Russell has worked in business development roles at various small businesses within the government contracting realm

Prior to starting his career in business development, Russell spent time as a Peace Corps volunteer on the islands of St. Vincent and St. Lucia. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Virginia Tech in marketing management and not only is a proud Hokie, but a native Washingtonian who grew up in the Franconia-Springfield area. He resides in Burke, Virginia, with his wife and step-daughter.

“I am excited to join this great organization,” Russell said. “JD has built a great forum for executives to meet their peers and build trusted relationships. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of WashingtonExec and servicing the executive community.”
