Salient CRGT, Inc. has been awarded a contract by the Institute of Scrap Recycling, Inc. to modernize an existing web application for the tracking and recovery of stolen materials. Salient CRGT will be providing application development, data hosting and IT modernization.

The current tracking application is a web application called ScrapTheftAlert.com, which has assisted with recovering $2 million in stolen materials. The system is used by law enforcement personnel, victims of theft, and recyclers. It enables law enforcement users to post alerts of stolen materials, and includes search capability, photo upload, success story updates, and a protected, private portal for law enforcement to share confidential information.

Salient CRGT is going to establish connections to law enforcement networks such as the FBI’s National Crime Information Center, National Data Exchange, and the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System. The system will be connected to Salient CRGT’s Voyager Query for Law Enforcement solution that will provide a portal for credentialed law enforcement users to inquire about data in other secure, restricted systems.

“Leveraging our years of law enforcement hosting experience, we will deliver a highly scalable, tightly integrated, enhanced version of the application,” said Brad Antle, chief executive officer of Salient CRGT. “Our Mobility Innovation Center focuses on improving collaboration among offices and agencies, and creating efficiencies and assuring accuracy through application development. It is also of the utmost importance that the law enforcement users can trust the security of their credentials, data and communications.”
