Big data analytics company PlanetRisk has acquired Tysons Corner-based Analytic Strategies, which provides enterprise analytics services to the federal government.
Analytic Strategies’ expertise in enterprise analytics, data system management, operations research, supply chain management and intelligence analysis will add on to PlanetRisk’s existing offerings of analytic capabilities, according to an Aug. 9 press release.
“At the core of this acquisition are highly valuable data analytics capabilities that will allow PlanetRisk to further expand its robust services in big data engineering, advanced analytics, geospatial business intelligence, social network analysis and enterprise risk modeling,” said Paul McQuillan, president and CEO of PlanetRisk.
“The addition of Analytic Strategies will bring the strength of new customer relationships across defense and intelligence sectors, existing prime and indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contracts, and perhaps most important, a team with extensive experience in enterprise data services that perfectly complements PlanetRisk’s unique big data, analytics and software capabilities,” he added.
Founded in 2006, Analytic Strategies’ customers include the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Defense Logistics Agency, the Defense Health Agency, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, among others.
Analytic Strategies Founder and CEO Randy Wimmer will serve as a director on PlanetRisk’s board and as strategic adviser to McQuillan. Denis Clements, president and chief operating officer of Analytic Strategies, takes on the role as PlanetRisk’s chief operations officer.
