Alan Hill, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and Government Relations of Serco, will complete his term as co-chair WashingtonExec’s MARCOM Committee.
The MARCOM Committee hosts marketing and communication executives to discuss topics such as strategies of sequestration, content generation, internal communications, digital transitions, insourcing versus outsourcing, and employee engagement and relations.
For 25 years, Hill has worked within the communications industry. In his current role at Serco, he manages the company’s external and internal relations and executes various programs. He oversees public and media relations, marketing communications, government relations, and employee communications.
Prior to Serco, Hill was VP of corporate communications and investor relations at SI International. He developed and executed the company’s “Rapid Response, Rapid Deployment” brand identity and established the investor relations department during the company’s initial public offering.
Hill also was director of public relations for Intermedia Communications, where he served as spokesman during the company’s $4 billion merger. He held management positions in public relations and business marketing communications at Bell Atlantic, and also held roles as national director in the Senate Office; director at the National Republican Senatorial Committee; and deputy campaign manager for Sen. Phil Gramm.
“Over 4 years ago, JD had the vision of bringing together the leaders of marketing and communication to network, share ideas, discuss best practices, and learn from each other. Together with Sheila and Eileen, the vision became a reality and has been going strong ever since. Now with Andrew chairing the MarComm Committee, he has taken the dinner sessions to the next level with new topics and great interaction by participants, ” said Hill. Andrew Bryden, Chief Marketing Officer of CSRA, will continue to serve as chairperson for the next year, as Hill will continue as a member of the committee.
“Alan has provided excellent leadership for the committee with his extensive expertise in the marketing and communications field. We appreciate all his hard work over the past year,” JD Kathuria, founder and CEO of WashingtonExec, said.
