    Young AFCEA Bethesda Elects 2016-2017 Board

    Young AFCEA Bethesda transitioned July 1 to the organization’s 2016-2017 Board.

    • President — Kristina Kelly, a manager at Blackstone Technology Group, where she supports the Office of the Chief Technology Officer within the Department of Homeland Security, will serve as President through June 30, 2017.
    • President-Elect — Cody Mruk, who currently serves Young AFCEA Bethesda in the role of Vice President of Programs and previously as the Program Chair for the Young AFCEA Bethesda Spring Fling Networking Event, will succeed Kelly as Board President in 2017.
    • Treasurer — Jessica Tavasti Davis again joins the Young AFCEA Board as the Treasurer. Davis works at Microsoft as the Business Manager for the US Public Sector Dynamics business.
    • Secretary and Parent Chapter Liaison — Shine Misola, who works in Business Development at Agile Defense.
    • VP of Programs — Alye Villani, a Business Development Analyst at Lockheed Martin, currently works to support the Strategy and Development Executive Leadership through Business Operations and external strategic customer outreach.

    The Chapter’s Management positions will be held by :

    • Membership Chair — Erica Poskaitis, Government Sales Representative for Oracle
    • Industry Outreach — Rashique Mustahseen, Business Analyst with CGI Federal
    • Government Outreach — Ian Moore, Business Development Manager for General Dynamics Information Technology
    • VP Communications and Technology — Sarah Thayer, Proposal Manager at Synectics for Management Decisions, Inc. (Synectics)

    Program Chairs include:

    • Fiscal New Year Networking Event Chair — Whitney E Shafer, Senior Business Development Analyst with Lockheed Martin IS&GS
    • Spring Fling Networking Event Chair: Elizaveta Zaychenko
    • Winter IT Luncheon Chair — Rachel Henderson, Project Analyst and PMO Lead on the CSRA IT Support Services Contract supporting the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
    • Professional Development Chair — Wajid Hussain, Chief Financial Officer at GreenZone Solutions
    • Golf Tournament Chair — Jason Love, Business Development Director at Engility Corporation
    • Senior Government Executive Dinner Chair — Mahlet Mesfin, Technical Account Manager at Acquia

    Young AFCEA Bethesda provides a network for emerging leaders and IT professionals to connect and seek mentoring relationships with senior industry and government executives. Young AFCEA Bethesda organizes networking and professional development programs throughout the year to provide a forum for sharing ideas, developing skills and making enriching professional connections.
