Throughout the year, Vencore employees from multiple managerial levels and functional areas dedicate their personal time to encourage youth to learn about and commit to a career in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.
Vencore participates in many events and recently attended the Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) STEM Conference as an exhibitor. The BEYA STEM Conference honors the nation’s most talented government and non-government engineers and scientists. Additionally, Vencore participated in WashingtonExec’s K-12 STEM Symposium at the Nysmith School in Herndon, Va. At Nysmith, Vencore employees took part in an all-day forum that engages children, parents, teachers, corporate, government and non-profit executives from STEM fields.
On Friday, May 6, Vencore once again reached out to the community and sponsored its annual Space Group STEM Event at its Chantilly, Va. headquarters. Vencore developed an engaging, informative and creative agenda that included voice biometrics, flight simulation and presentations by prestigious local universities including George Mason University, George Washington University, Virginia Tech, University of Maryland, West Point Military Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy. The successful in-house event attracted more than fifty Thomas A. Edison Advanced via Individual Determination (AVID) high school students, teachers, Vencore staff.
