Salient CRGT Inc. announced June 13 that the company has been awarded a prime contract to provide education and training support services and manage a state-of-the-art operational, cleared facility, supporting the space acquisition mission of the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) University (SMCU). This five-year effort is valued at approximately $4.5 million.

“We are very proud to continue our partnership with the Space and Missile Systems Center University to help provide the nation with its superior space capabilities,” Salient CRGT CEO Brad Antle said. “This effort is more than a training project. We assist the SMC University by providing end-to-end education services to better serve the Air Force creating a well-trained workforce in a state-of-the-art facility.” This award was through Salient SGIS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Salient CRGT.

Salient CRGT will continue supporting the SMC University, providing classroom instruction, computer-based training, course development, video teleconferencing and video services, and consulting services to the SMC workforce.

The SMC, a subordinate unit of Air Force Space Command, is the center for developing, acquiring, fielding and sustaining military space systems. The center is responsible for on-orbit check-out, testing, sustainment and maintenance of military satellite constellations and other Dept. of Defense space systems.

The SMC University’s mission is to mature, develop, train, and educate the SMC workforce in support of its space acquisition mission.
