Parsons announced March 30 the promotion of Vice President James “Jay” Williams to manage the newly-created Cyber Infrastructure Protection Sector within the company’s Federal business unit. He will lead the expansion of Parsons’ cyber and physical security business — across all five of the corporation’s business units — to customers in state and local government and global commercial markets.

“I am very excited to have Jay at the head our new Cyber Infrastructure Protection Sector,” Parsons Group President MaryAnn Hopkins said. “Parsons, with its strength in infrastructure development and ICS/SCADA cybersecurity, is uniquely qualified to protect critical infrastructure, and Jay, with his background developing cybersecurity programs for both federal and commercial customers, is uniquely qualified to lead our growth in this area.”

Federal, a primary business unit of Parsons Corporation, delivers, protects and sustains U.S. government assets across the defense, security, intelligence, environmental and infrastructure markets worldwide.

Williams has 24 years of experience as an executive, sales manager and engineer focused on technology. Since joining Parsons in 2015 as Director of Business Development for ICS/SCADA Cybersecurity, he has been instrumental in developing business with key accounts as well as establishing Parsons’ strategic partnership with FireEye. He previously served as the National Business Development Manager for a leading provider of industrial solutions and has served in a sales executive/management role at Marquardt Switches, Honeywell Imaging and Mobility, and Cognex Corporation.

Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY.
