MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB) announced April 4 that its Information Solutions Division (ISD) has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI® Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
“CMMI Level 3 is an exceptional credential that reflects MacB’s continued focus on process improvement and perfecting disciplined processes to improve the quality of our products,” MacB’s Advanced Technology Group (ATG) Senior Vice President and General Manager Tim Lawrence said. “This successful recertification — our third — allows us to continue executing some of the more complex programs in the defense industry, including the Air Force Equipment Management System (AFEMS), the Purchase Request Processing System (PRPS), Cyber Systems TAT delivery orders and many GSA Alliant program tasks.”
Level 3 is a highly-coveted rating comparing an organization’s existing processes to proven best practices developed by members of the industry, government and academia. MacB excelled for its defined software and systems engineering, program management and capabilities in organizational process management.
The CMMI Institute, a new subsidiary of ISACA, is a global leader dedicated to elevating organizational performance by helping companies improve operational performance by lowering the cost of development, production and delivery. CMMI provides the framework for companies to consistently deliver products and services that customers want, and the appraisal rating is required by many Department of Defense and other government contracts.
The rigorous three-week assessment conducted at MacB allowed the company to showcase continued process improvements throughout the organization for work on specific government contract vehicles, and also highlighted corporate performance, quality and profitability. The result was a CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI A) rating at Maturity Level 3 completed in February 2016.
