The U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) will be hosting the GEOINT 2016 Symposium which will take place May 15-18 in Orlando, FL at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center.
This annual event is the nation’s largest gathering of industry, academia, and government which includes Defense, Intelligence, and Homeland Security Communities as well as commercial, federal/civil, state and local geospatial intelligence stakeholders. This Symposium will feature an exhibit hall with more than 200 organizations that will be demonstrating new technologies, solutions and services. Sixty hours of dedicated professional development, training, and education sessions will also be available.
The GEOINT 2016 keynote speakers include: Robert Cardillo, director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA); Parag Khanna, TED speaker, global strategist, managing partner of Hybrid Reality, and author; Dr. Suzette Kimball, director of the U.S. Geological Survey; and The Honorable Marcel Lettre, undersecretary of defense for intelligence.
In addition USGIF will be hosting a pre-symposium session called GEOINT Foreword which will be held on May 15 and requires a separate registration. It will be a day focused the discussion of innovation and advances in the GEOINT tradecraft. The keynote speakers for this event will be Phil Gilbert, general manager for IBM Design and Dr. Peter Highnam, leader of NGA’s InnoVision directorate.
Accompanying these events and activities will be networking events, a golf tournament to help fund USGIF educational initiatives, and much more.
