It was announced on November 18th by Reston, Va.-based Leidos that it was named a 2016 Military FriendlyⓇ Employer and Top 100 Employer by Victory Media. Victory Media has been recognizing companies with leading programs for veterans, members of the Armed Forces leaving military service and military spouses for 13 years through their Victory Media Military Friendly ratings.

Daniel Nichols, Chief Product Officer of Victory Media and Navy Reserve veteran stated, “Companies that have earned the 2016 Military FriendlyⓇ designation have exceptionally strong hiring programs and meaningful career paths for transitioning service members and spouses.”

Through the Operation MVP program Leidos partners with military transition centers, military associations and veteran organizations in an effort to identify and hire retiring and separating military veterans by attending and participating in career development and networking events aimed at attracting the veteran and military dependent/caregiver population. Through all of employment efforts Leidos has achieved a workforce that is comprised of 17% veterans.

Sarah Allen, Chief Human Resources Officer at Leidos said, “We recognize the immense character, work ethic and technical skills that veteran employees bring to Leidos. We’re proud to be recognized by Victory Media for our commitment to veteran hiring.”

Benchmark scores across key programs and policies such as the strength of company military recruiting efforts, percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention programs for veterans and company policies on National Guard and Reserve service are some of the criteria used by Victory Media when evaluating companies competing for the Military Friendly designation.
