SC3, based in Alexandria, Va., announced Dec. 16 the appointment of Charles Hicks to the position of Chief Operating Officer. He will also continue to serve as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer, reporting to CEO David Page.

“At SC3, our strength lies in knowing what our clients need to accomplish their complicated and important missions, and that requires highly capable, experienced team members,” Page said. “Chuck’s strong background in finance, his understanding of the intricacies involved in working with federal government clients and his military service bring added depth to our strong leadership team. We welcome his contributions and know our clients will benefit from his expertise.”

Hicks will oversee all operational and strategic initiatives for the firm, including the creation of efficient consolidated corporate support functions, streamlining internal processes, leveraging business development opportunities and strengthening and growing SC3’s position in the marketplace.

A certified public accountant with more than 20 years of experience in both finance and operational management, Hicks most recently served as senior vice president of finance and business operations with ASRC Federal. Prior to that, he held the role of CFO for The Buffalo Group and for USIS. He also served in senior-level financial roles for companies that include SAIC, UnitedHealth Group and Coventry Health Care. He began his career with Ernst & Young in its Washington, D.C. office.

Hicks is a U.S. Navy veteran and earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Maryland College Park. A native of Port Huron, Mich., Hicks lives in Leesburg with his wife and four children.
