Reston, Va.-based Serco Inc. announced Nov. 9 the appointment of T. Wood Parker to company’s Board of Directors as Vice Chairman.
“We are pleased that Wood Parker joined our board of directors,” Serco Inc. Chairman and CEO Dan Allen said. “Wood’s extensive knowledge and insight into federal government contracting with the Dept. of Defense, federal civilian agencies and the intelligence community will be valuable as we grow Serco’s key market sectors — defense, citizen services and transportation in the U.S.”
Parker previously served as TASC’s President and CEO from 2006 to 2011. He has also worked at Northrop Grumman as President of the Federal Enterprise Solutions unit and at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Washington Consulting Practice’s Managing Partner.
Parker retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service and has served as a commissioner on the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships. He was president of the White House Fellows Association, a member of the Planning Forum and a principal on the Council for Excellence in Government. Parker has written extensively about change management, leadership and transformation initiatives to achieve improved business results.
He earned a master’s degree in international relations from Miami University (Ohio) and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University.
