It was announced on November 20th by Chantilly, Va.-based Vencore Inc. that the General Services Administration (GSA) has renewed its accreditation to evaluate cloud-based solutions for federal government agencies as a Federal Risk Authorization and Management Program (FedRAMPSM) Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO).

Vencore first received accreditation to become a FedRAMP 3PAO in June 2013. FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized, cost-effective approach for the federal government to adopt and use cloud services from commercial providers. An audit was performed by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) to verify Vencore’s technical compliance to FedRAMP’s requirements which allowed Vencore to retain its 3PAO status.

Mac Curtis, President and Chief Executive Officer at Vencore stated, “We are proud to be among the few federal contractors accredited as a FedRAMP Third Party Assessment Organization. As the federal government and commercial customers accelerate the adoption of cloud services, security and data privacy are critically important. We look forward to ensuring confidence that our customers are adopting cloud services that are trustworthy, safe and reliable.”
