Oceus Networks played a key role in the Pope’s Sept. 26 visit to Philadelphia.
Oceus Networks’ JerseyNet was used by the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness and the New Jersey State Police to provide secure communications and live streaming security video during the Pope’s trip.
JerseyNet is a private and secured network that uses mobile 4G LTE broadband to share voice, video and data between first responders. A low risk of broadband congestion and minimizing performance limitations are a few advantages of using a private network such as JerseyNet.
“Oceus was pleased to play a role in ensuring the success of the Papal visit by enabling live streaming security video and direct communications throughout the public safety community,” Oceus Networks President and CEO Randy Fuerst said. “This dedicated interoperable solution connected multiple agencies in Band 14 spectrum in ways that would have not been possible over commercial networks due to the size of the local crowds.”
