It was announced on October 13th by Arlington, Va.-based CACI International (CACI) that it has won a five-year, $90 million IDIQ contract by FEMA to provide sustainment, decommissioning, construction, modernization and environmental and historic preservation to the National Public Warning System (NPWS). In the event of a nationwide emergency the NPWS is used to alert and warn American citizens through the use of broadcast, cable, satellite, and wireline radio and television channels.

CACI will be providing engineering, network and communications expertise to ensure modernization of NPWS services that will yield cost efficiency, broadcast reliability as well as mission success.

“With our extensive experience supporting large and complex networks for the federal government, CACI is positioned to continue bringing innovation and efficiency to FEMA’s National Public Warning System,” state John Mengucci, Chief Operating Officer and President of U.S. Operations at CACI.

“CACI is proud that our ongoing support for the Federal Emergency Management Agency will help ensure that America’s National Public Warning System remains secure and reliable during emergencies, and that important emergency information is disseminated to inform and protect our nation’s citizens,” said Ken Asbury, President and COO at CACI.
