It was announced on September 8 by Sterling, Va.-based ParkMyCloud that it will now be available to Amazon Web Services users. ParkMyCloud is the only app that allows cloud computing users to schedule on/off times for the cloud computing services they are not using. The “Startup” tier starts at $29 per month.
Beta customer David Levinger, Senior Director of Information Technology at Paxata said, “Whenever your boss comes over and says ‘Hey, why are we spending $8,000 a month on AWS EC2?’ you can show him how much you’re saving with parking. This is exactly the type of tool companies need. It’s simple and clean, and it’s an easy way to get cost savings on development resources you aren’t using.”
Until now companies who use Azure, Google and AWS for cloud computing services have been billed hourly and have had no way of turning off these idle cloud computing services.
ParkMyCloud said to be a simple SaaS tool that requires no installation. There are three easy steps to cost reduction: 1) Set up a ParkMyCloud account at www.parkmycloud.com, 2) Connect with Amazon Web Services to discover cloud computing services, and 3) Start “parking” cloud services with scheduled “on/off” times.
Jay Chapel, Founder and CEO of ParkMyCloud said, “Our research shows that companies are crying out for simple, standalone tools that help manage the fast-changing IT landscape. ParkMyCloud can help companies send hundreds of millions of dollars in reduced cloud computing costs straight to their bottom line.”
