Leidos presented the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation a gift to promote the success of the 2015 Fall Cyber Lecture series presented by the Naval Academy’s Center for Cyber Security Studies.

This three to five lecture event occurs throughout the academic year and provides critical cyber security education to Midshipmen, government employees and others.

“It is a widely held belief that our next war will begin not on land, sea or in the air, but in the networks that tie so many of our information, financial and defense systems together. Our Navy and Marine Corps officers must be prepared to fight and win in this new theater,” said John Rudder ’78, senior director of development at the Naval Academy Foundation. “Growing the Center for Cyber Security Studies is essential to the Academy’s pursuit of its mission. The Center’s lecture series brings national and global leaders in cyber expertise to the Yard, greatly enhancing the Brigade’s understanding of these topics and enriching the dialogue on these issues within the Academy community and beyond. We are grateful for Leidos’s support of this important endeavor.”

The Center for Cyber Security Studies (CCCS) is vital in the education of midshipmen in all areas of cyber defense and warfare.

“Leidos is excited to expand our longtime support to the U.S. Naval Academy. We look forward to working with the Center for Cyber Security Studies to further advance their world-class education and efforts to address the evolving cyber security challenges facing our nation today,” said Charlie Kanewske ’80, DoD Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) Program Director at Leidos.
