The 2015 Women’s Center Gala on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner marks the 40th anniversary of The Women’s Center (TWC) supporting and improving the lives women, teens and families in our community.
The black- tie gala is The Women’s Center’s signature fundraising event of the year to raise money to provide counseling, education, and other resources to those who could not afford these services otherwise. This year’s theme, “Reaching forward, giving back”, honors the decades of service of the organization and its clinical staff and inspires continued support of TWC’s mission for years to come.
Doug Kammerer, Chief Meteorologist of NBC4, will emcee the evening’s festivities – including a live and silent auction, dinner, dancing, wine tastings, and more.
This year’s Gala Chairperson is Greg Baroni, Chairman and CEO of Attain, LLC.
“It is a pleasure to work with Greg and watch him attack the challenge of increasing sponsorships in a year that has challenged many organizations,” said Shirley Clark, CEO and Executive Director of The Women’s Center. “It is wonderful how the corporate and business community come together to support the work of The Women’s Center at this event. Whether it is sponsoring a table, donating an item, or purchasing a ticket, everyone’s efforts help toward achieving our goal.”
The $250,000 gala fundraising goal will be met through the corporate sponsorships and generous donations from those in our community. Money raised at the gala also funds the clinical training individuals require to be TWC therapists.
Since joining TWC’s Board of Directors in 2008, Baroni has dedicated himself and his company to supporting the non-profit organization’s mission.
“TWC is aligned with both the Attain mission and our corporate value to obsess externally, which is about serving others and not limiting it to just serving our clients,” said Baroni. “You look at when we founded this firm, we did it on three pillars – built to last, next generation, and values driven, living the Attain way through our core values. The values driven part is really around having an impact and weaving it into the way we live and work to improve the lives of others.”
Baroni was the first male to join TWC Board of Directors, but he jests that being outnumbered is something he has grown used to.
“You’ve got to remember that I have four daughters and a wife so the women do outnumber the men in my household,” Baroni said.

TWC is a critical resource to the community, viewed as a safety net for those who need help transitioning to a healthier, happier lifestyle. To learn more about the 40th Annual Women’s Center Gala and how to get involved, visit www.thewomenscenter.org.
